Wall of Truth vs Gentler Streak: history or daily guidance?
Choose Gentler Streak for guidance about balancing activity and recovery. Choose Wall of Truth to inspect Apple Health history as a year of colored squares. A record of what happened and a suggestion for what to do next serve different purposes.
This guide is written by the Wall of Truth team. It uses Gentler Streak's published feature descriptions, checked on October 3, 2026, rather than claiming hands-on testing or medical validation.

When daily guidance matters most
Gentler Streak presents an Activity Path and Go Gentler suggestions, alongside Apple Watch workout tracking. Its published features include heart-rate-zone information and wellbeing views. Consider it when interpreting today's activity matters more to you than choosing a different history chart.
Ask what you expect after opening an app. Do you want to leave with a suggestion for the day, or with a clearer picture of the last few months? Decide that before comparing screenshots: a beautiful chart can still be the wrong tool for your question.
What Wall of Truth is designed to show
Wall of Truth takes six metrics from Apple Health and puts each into a grid with one square per day. You choose intensity thresholds and colors, inspect individual dates, and keep a wall visible through Home Screen widgets. Health data stays on your iPhone without a Wall of Truth account.
That view can reveal a change worth investigating: several lighter weeks of walking, a shift in recorded sleep, or a return to your usual exercise pattern. It does not explain the cause or calculate what effort is appropriate today.
Do not turn a color into a training prescription
A dark square means a higher recorded value relative to your chosen thresholds. It does not automatically mean a better day. Rest can be intentional, and missing measurements can leave gaps. Review your records rather than treating maximum color intensity as a daily requirement.
If you want recovery guidance, evaluate a product built for that purpose. Wall of Truth's customization changes how measurements are displayed; it does not add a readiness score or adaptive workout plan.
Can you use both?
Their roles can be complementary. Use a guidance tool when planning activity, and a heatmap when reviewing a month or a year. You do not need to replace a workflow that works just to add another perspective on existing records.
Try the free browser step wall with an Apple Health export to see whether a grid helps you read your history. Review each iPhone app's current App Store listing before buying. Choose based on the question you need answered, rather than the word 'streak' in an app's name.
